By the Light of the Silver Moon is a feature-length documentary about the people behind one of the last surviving drive-in theaters in America: The Silver Moon Drive-In, open since 1948.
The film will follow the owner, staff, and generations of patrons who've kept the Silver Moon alive through everything from tornadoes, the rise of television, and home video to streaming and a global pandemic.
At its heart, it's a story about survival, legacy, and the deep connection between an iconic place and the people who support it.

Established in 1948, the Silver Moon Drive-In has stood as a pillar of Lakeland's community for eight decades. Our documentary project is a cinematic tribute to the 'life's blood' of this beautiful theater. We are including the stories of the owner, staff, and customers who have kept this historic landmark alive through generations.
We want to honor the resilience of this mid-century icon of Americana, ensuring that the stories of the Silver Moon are preserved for future generations.
